29 October 44 - The 53rd left Camp Polk, Louisiana via a steam-engined troop train for Camp Kilmer, New Jersey.
1 November 44 - Arrived Camp Kilmer, New Jersey.
6 November 44 - Left Camp Kilmer to board the English transport ship, H.M.T. Samaria.
7 November 44 - At 10:30 sailed out of New York Harbor, passing very close to the Statue of Libety.
17 November 44 - Arrived at Southampton, England, having learned en route that President Roosevelt had been re-elected.
20 November 44 - All troops from the Samaria were taken by rail to Tidworth Barracks, England.
5 January 45 - On this Friday at 0410, left Tidworth Barracks for Weymouth, England, using the vehicle convoy and arrived later that same day at 1600 hours.
6 January 45 - Left Weymouth at 0730 and boarded the LST at 1100. vehicles being driven up the ramp of the LST.
6 January 45 - At 1600 that Saturday afternoon, put out to sea.
7 January 45 - Reached Le Havre, France at 0930 on that Sunday from where troops convoyed across France, passing through Rouen, Totes, Compiegne, Soissons, Reims, and Verdun.
13 January 45 - (Saturday) Billeted at Les Meniels, (near Pont-à-Mousson).
2 February 45 - (Friday) Left Les Meniels. Passed through towns in France, Belgium, and Holland: Vandiers, Pagny, Arnsville,Chambly, Mars-Le-Tour, Confians, Etain, Spincourt, Longuyen, Arlon Neufchateau, Rochefort, Marche, Liege and Maastricht.
3 February 45 - (Saturday) Billeted at Houthem, Holland.
19 February 45 - (Monday) At 1230 left Houthem. Passed through Meersen, Sittard and Sustern, billeting at St. Joost that evening.
27 February 45 - Left St. Joost at 1730. Passed through Sustern, Sittard, Gelenkieken, Hilfarth (crossed the Roer River).
28 February 45 - (Wednesday) Billeted at Hucklehoven, Germany at 0400.
1 March 45 - (Thursday) Left Hucklehoven at 2300. Passed through Merbeck and Wegburg.
2 March 45 - (Friday) Billeted at Amern-St. Georg at 0300.
3 March 45 - (Saturday) Left Amern-St. Georg at 0930., travelling through Boishem and Lobberich. Billeted at Hinsbeck at 0130 that morning.
26 March 45 - (Monday) Left Hinsbeck that evening.
27 March 45 - (Tuesday) Crossed the Rhine River at 1100 near Ossenburg (H Bridge, a reinforced pontoon bridge).
30 March 45 - (Friday) Billeted at Gladbeck at 1700.
1 April 45 - (Easter Sunday) Left Gladbeck at 0400. Passed through Dorsten, Haltern, Hullern, Olfen, and Selm. Billeted at Bork at 1100 that morning.
2 April 45 - (Monday) Left Bork at 1600.
3 April 45 - (Tuesday) Reached Delbruck at 1000.
4 April 45 - (Wednesday) Left Delbruck at 1600. Reached Erminghausen at 1800 that night.
6 April 45 - (Friday) Left Erminghausen at 1300. Reached Erwitte at 1500 that evening.
8 April 45 - (Sunday) Left Erwitte at 1400, arriving at Soest at 1500 that same afternoon.
10 April 45 - (Tuesday) Left Soest at 1000, arriving at Werl at noon.
13 April 45 - (Friday) Left Werl at 2300.
14 April 45 - (Saturday) Arrived at Wolfenbuttel at 1900 (175 miles).
20 April 45 - (Friday) Left Wolfenbuttel at 0830. Reached Halberstadt at 1100 that morning.

Shortly after V-E Day, convoyed to Staab, Czechoslavakia where the Division was disbanded. Staab name was changed to Stodo and is located just south of Pilsen.
